Education is the key to opportunity. We believe that educational equity is a civil rights issue — and we act on it every day.
The 100 Black Men of Greater Little Rock invests in education as the most reliable path to opportunity. From weekly reading sessions in local schools to college preparation and scholarship support, we meet students where they are and walk beside them to where they want to be.
Our Reading Program reaches students across multiple schools in the Greater Little Rock area. Each week, chapter members sit with students for one-on-one and small group reading sessions, building literacy skills, confidence, and positive relationships with adult male role models.
The program focuses on strengthening reading comprehension, building vocabulary, and fostering a genuine love of learning. For many students, our members are the first Black men they've seen engage with reading as a valued and joyful practice.
S.M.A.R.T. Academy is our flagship mentoring program for young men ages 13–17. Over 8 Saturdays, 90 minutes each, participants work directly with chapter members on life skills, leadership, character development, and academic planning.
The program is free to all participants, thanks to our sponsors and the commitment of chapter members. Registration for the 2026 cohort is open now.
